Two Weeks Until "I Do" – Your Final Wedding Countdown
After months (or perhaps years) of planning, you're finally here.
In just two weeks, you'll be walking down the aisle, surrounded by the people you love most, ready to marry your favourite person.
These last few days can feel exciting, emotional and, if we're honest, a little overwhelming. So we've put together a gentle reminder of the things that matter most before your big day.
1. Stop Trying to Make Everything Perfect
At this stage, perfection isn't the goal.
Someone might forget cufflinks. A flower may arrive slightly different. The weather may have other plans.
None of those things will matter when you're standing at the end of the aisle.
Your guests won't remember whether every napkin matched perfectly, they'll remember the joy in the room.
2. Final Dress Check
If you've collected your gown:
Try it on one last time.
Make sure your shoes and accessories are together.
Steam the veil if needed.
Pack your jewellery, perfume and any sentimental items in one place.
Ask someone you trust to be responsible for your dress on the wedding morning.
Then leave it alone. Resist the temptation to keep trying it on!
3. Confirm the Important Details
Now is the perfect time to touch base with your suppliers.
Confirm:
Arrival times
Contact numbers
Final payments
Delivery addresses
Emergency contacts
A quick confirmation now can prevent unnecessary stress later.
4. Create an Emergency Kit
Ask one of your bridesmaids to keep a small bag with essentials:
Safety pins
Fashion tape
Plasters
Pain medication
Tissues
Lipstick
Hairpins
Mints
A small sewing kit
You'll probably never need most of it—but you'll be grateful if you do.
5. Look After Yourself
This isn't the time for crash diets, new skincare products or dramatic hair changes.
Instead:
Drink plenty of water.
Get enough sleep.
Eat nourishing meals.
Move your body.
Spend time outside.
A happy, rested bride always glows more than one who's exhausted.
6. Delegate
You don't need to answer every question on your wedding day.
Choose one or two trusted people, a bridesmaid, sibling, parent or wedding planner, and let them handle the logistics.
Protect your peace.
7. Spend Time With Your Favourite Person
Somewhere along the way, wedding planning becomes spreadsheets, seating charts and supplier emails.
Take an evening to simply be together.
Go for dinner.
Take a walk.
Watch a movie.
Remember why you're getting married in the first place.
8. Prepare for the Emotions
Many brides are surprised by how emotional the final week becomes.
You may feel excited.
You may feel nervous.
You may cry for no reason.
Every feeling is completely normal.
Give yourself permission to experience it all.
9. Put Your Phone Down
The day before your wedding, try to step away from your phone for a while.
The emails can wait. The messages can wait. Your wedding only happens once.
Be present for every beautiful moment.
10. Don't Forget to Enjoy It
This is the advice almost every married couple gives:
"The day goes by so quickly."
Pause during your ceremony.
Look around during your reception.
Hold your partner's hand.
Take it all in.
These are the memories you'll treasure forever.
